Accessibility

InSkin Media is committed to providing a website that achieves good standards of accessibility so that its content is available to a wide audience.

We are committed to helping improve accessibility to make our online services easier to use. If you experience any problems with the site, or have any feedback please email info@inskinmedia.com.

This section outlines the site's accessibility features and guidance on how they are used.

Standard compliance

The website has been developed in line with the Priority Levels 1 & 2 (WCAG 1 - AA) of the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) guidelines, part of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

We strive to maintain these standards by employing best practice techniques where certain Priority 1/2 checkpoints have become outdated.

The WCAG 1.0 explains how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. Conforming to these guidelines makes the internet a more user-friendly place for all web users.

Design

The website, wherever possible, conforms to the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

The site's XHTML 1.1 mark-up and cascading style sheets (CSS2) have been validated using the W3C's validation service.

Alt tags have been used where images appear throughout the site, while semantic mark-up has also been used.

Navigation

The website navigation is provided in text for improved readability, which is also accessible using a screen reader.

Screen resolution

The website has been optimised to be best viewed at a minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768, with a maximised web browser window.

Web browser compatibility

The website is compatible with all available web browsers, including Internet Explorer 5, Firefox 1, Opera 6, Safari 1 and later editions, where Javascript and Flash Player 9 are supported.

Screen readers

All text used throughout the website is selectable, non-graphical and screen-reader friendly.

Colours and contrast

We have considered the needs of users who are colour blind by selecting colour combinations with sufficient contrast between foreground and background.

High contrast colours have been used to ensure legibility.

Adobe Flash Player

Multimedia elements, including the site's product video presentations, have been developed using Adobe Flash Player technology.

Adobe Flash Player 9 or a later version of the software - compatible with Windows, Mac OS, Linux and Solaris operating systems - is required to view the site's product video presentations.

Download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player for free from the Adobe website.

Further information about the system requirements is available on the Adobe website.
